Treasure Coast Mullet Run Special

Every fall brings a massive migration of mullet down our coastline. These mullet flood the beaches and inshore waterways while migrating through, and every predator fish starts feeding heavily on them. We have found night to be the best time to target these fish on articials, our trips usually start around 6 or 7pm but are tide-dependent. We usually throw topwaters and paddle tails, but fly fishing can also be exceptional during the run.

This is one of my favorite times of year and is a natural phenomenon best experienced at least once in your life. You will never forget the sight of 150+ pound tarpon busting through an endless school of mullet flickering on the surface.

Target Species

Tarpon, snook, jack crevalle, and blacktip sharks are all in on the feeding frenzy—exploding all over the pods of these baitfish. You might want to bring a neckbrace, because every time a fish explodes on the surface you’re going to be turning your head to catch the action.

Where We Fish

We will exclusively be fishing along the beaches and seawalls where fish are ambushing the mullet. We use a mix of sight fishing and our top-of-the-line electronics to locate the schools of bait and pods of fish feeding on them.
